About us

Stavanger Symphony Choir is a mixed amateur choir of approximately 80 members from 13 different countries. The choir’s main focus is to assist Stavanger Symphony Orchestra in performing major choral and orchestral masterpieces in the renowned concert house in Stavanger. Our work with the orchestra and international conductors and soloists, gives us an inspiring and challenging acquaintance of music from different styles and periods. The choir has also given some a cappella concerts at home and abroad. All in all we give between 6 and 8 concerts every season. Under the leadership of our choir director Kateryna Ustyantseva we are committed to delivering our music with precision and quality, and to give our audience the best possible musical experience.

The choir is always looking for new and skilled singers, especially male voices. We can offer a great social and musical environment, in return we require your commitment and your musical talent. We usually run auditions with our musical director the first two Wednesdays in June (from 5-7pm) and last two Wednesdays in August (from 5-6pm). If you would like to hear more, fill in the application form below (form is in Norwegian), or send us an e-mail.
